I took my first yoga class in 2017 - hot yoga in Primrose Hill - seeking movement, peace and a way to reconnect with myself. What started as curiosity quickly became a daily ritual, and for nearly two years, I showed up on the mat every day. The mental and physical transformation I experienced led me to take a leap: in September 2019, I travelled to Goa, India, to complete my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Upaya Yoga School.
Immersed in the wisdom of ancient teachings, I studied Ashtanga and Hatha yoga, philosophy, anatomy, and the art of holding space. My teachers - Indian yogis carrying the lineage of this sacred practice - instilled in me the importance of honouring yoga’s roots, a value I continue to uphold in my own practice and teaching.
Teaching wasn’t originally part of my plan, but the universe had other ideas. A few months after I returned home, the world changed. Photography work paused, and I found myself sharing yoga online. What started as a temporary shift turned into a passion - I taught three classes a week for over a year and a half. Then, serendipity struck: a movement studio in Hampstead reached out for photography, and before I knew it, I was also teaching there, building a beautiful community of students.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of teaching on retreats, working with private clients in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire, and deepening my own personal practice. Yoga is more than movement for me - it’s a sacred space to check in with myself, to keep learning, and to share this incredible journey with others.
In addition to my yoga training, I completed a Yoga Nidra and Somatic Teacher Training in Sicily with my dear friend Alida from Kamla Yoga. Yoga Nidra is a deeply restorative mindfulness practice that I love sharing in my classes, helping students relax, reset and cultivate inner awareness.
My somatic training has also given me a profound understanding of how emotions and experiences are stored in the body. This has completely transformed the way I guide my students - I can now better read and respond to their energy, supporting them in a way that feels safe, intuitive and aligned with their unique needs.
