Five years ago, during a transformative yoga teacher training at Upaya Yoga Center in India, I met Lara. We were two souls on similar paths, bonding over long days of practice and reflection. Little did we know that a friendship born in a remote corner of the world would blossom into something so deep and enduring once we returned to London.
After that incredible experience in India, we realized just how close we lived to each other back home. From there, our friendship grew organically—we kept in touch and, in a lovely tradition, started meeting every year for a photo session to capture Lara’s yoga practice. It’s always been a joy to witness her growth and dedication, both on and off the mat.

Last week, however, I had the immense privilege of photographing something far more momentous: Lara’s wedding day. Instead of her graceful yoga poses, I captured the radiant love she shares with her partner Josh. Although I had to capture her in one cheeky yoga pose 🙂
Being there, not just as a photographer but as a friend and guest, made the day even more special. It was an intimate celebration, filled with joy and connection, and watching them together was truly heartwarming. Lara and Josh looked so sweet, so in love—it was a joy to witness and capture their union.
Even though weddings used to be a regular part of my photography work and still are on occasion, there’s a certain enchantment about them that never fades. The emotions, the connections, and the stories behind every image remind me why I love capturing these moments of love and joy.
Being able to photograph Lara’s journey—from our yoga days in India to her wedding with Josh—has been an unforgettable experience. And while wedding photography has always had a magical element to it, this one was particularly dear to my heart. I’m just curious what will be the next occasion? 🙂
With love,
