Recently, I stumbled upon the words of the poet Atticus, and I can’t seem to stop reading. There’s a raw simplicity and deep resonance in their work that feels like a gentle nudge to rediscover the magic in the everyday. These words have been my mood lately, perfectly mirroring the energy I want to bring to my creative process—especially as I gear up for upcoming photo shoots.
Atticus has a way of taking complex emotions and distilling them into simple yet powerful expressions. It’s a reminder that beauty doesn’t have to be complicated, and often, less really is more. One quote that stuck with me deeply says:
“Watch carefully
the magic that occurs
when you give a person
enough comfort
to just be themselves.”
As a photographer, this is precisely the magic I strive to create during every session—offering enough warmth, presence and ease for my clients to simply be themselves. That’s when the real beauty shines through.
Another favourite of mine reads:
“I think it’s beautiful
the way you sparkle
when you talk about
the things you love.”
It reminds me of why I started combining yoga and photography in my work. There’s an undeniable radiance in people when they connect with what they truly love, whether it’s a movement, a pose or a dream they’re building. Capturing that spark through my lens is such a privilege.
A Creative Spark for Your Shoot
If you’re stepping in front of the camera soon—whether it’s for yoga portraits, branding or simply capturing your essence – I’d recommend reading a few Atticus quotes beforehand. They might inspire you, settle your nerves or even give you a sense of direction for how you want to express yourself during our session.
One quote that feels especially relevant for photo shoots is:
“We all wear masks,
some with makeup
some with smiles…
but somewhere there
where truth meets courage
we are waiting to be found.”
Photography, to me, is about gently peeling back those layers and letting the real you emerge. This process is what makes each shoot special and unique.
Why Simplicity Resonates
In a world filled with filters, expectations, and noise, Atticus’ words feel like a breath of fresh air. They speak to universal truths about love, courage and authenticity—concepts that are also the foundation of my photography practice. Whether we’re capturing a moment of flow, a quiet smile or a bold pose, I want you to leave feeling seen, celebrated and empowered.
To leave you with one final quote from Atticus:
“She was powerful,
not because she wasn’t scared
but because she went on so strongly,
despite the fear.”
Let’s bring this energy to your next session and embrace your power, your vulnerability and sparkle. If you’re curious about working together, have a look at my website and book a discovery call to learn more about my sessions. I cant wait to create something truly magical with you.
