I get it – sometimes it feels like a headshot is just that one photo you need to stick on LinkedIn or your CV. And yes, if you’re in the corporate world or job-hunting, that’s often the trend or even the rule.

But if you’re self-employed, a freelancer, or a creative business owner, your headshot is so much more than that. It’s your first impression. Often it’s the very first chance a potential client has to connect with you – to decide whether they trust you, whether they feel drawn to your work, and whether they want to take the next step with you.

Think about it:
✨ If I’m looking for a massage therapist, I won’t choose the one advertising with a photo of just a massage bed.
✨ If I’m looking for a yoga teacher, I want to see her face, not just a generic flyer.
✨ If I’m considering a mentor, I won’t sign up if the only photo is a casual holiday selfie – no matter how inspiring her words are.

Your photos tell your story long before you speak. And if you’re running a business, or even just starting out, I encourage you to create a bank of images that reflect who you are – and update them regularly.

And no, a headshot doesn’t need to be the classic white background with crossed arms. It can (and should!) be so much more: a true reflection of your personality, your energy, and the work you love.

Here are my 5 tips for headshots that truly stand out:

  • Choose the right outfit. Pick colours and styles that match your vibe and brand. Most importantly, wear something you feel comfortable and confident in.

  • Think about the background. A studio setting works well for a polished, business-like look. If you’re in the wellness world, nature or lifestyle spaces may better capture the freedom and calm you want to promote.

  • Practice your expression. Spend time in front of the mirror exploring approachable, warm, or professional looks. Even small changes like a head tilt or hand placement can shift the whole mood.

  • Invest in the details. Fresh hair, light makeup, and tidy nails make a big difference. These small touches help you feel polished and ready.

  • Talk to your photographer. A good photographer won’t just “take a photo” – they’ll guide you, bring out your personality, and usually give you more than one image you can use across different platforms.

When done well, headshots don’t just give you a photo for your website or social media. They support your visibility, inspire trust, and give you confidence to show up fully in your business.

And remember – your brand evolves, and your photos should too. Refresh them regularly so they always reflect who you are right now.

If you’re a yoga teacher, wellness practitioner, or soulful entrepreneur and you feel ready for headshots that show more than just your face – photos that truly capture your presence and personality – I’d love to create them with you.

Why Your Headshot Is Way More Than Just a Photo of Your Face

9/10/2025

 I'm Krisztina,

Photographer for women becoming visible leaders.

my approach

I work with women who are stepping into leadership and want their visibility to reflect the level they now operate at.

My work goes beyond portraits. Each session is a considered process designed to align presence, positioning and  perception.

When you lead, your imagery should carry that authority.

The Leadership

Ways we can work together:

Every experience is designed to align your presence with the level you now operate at.

Working with Krisztina was an absolute treat, and I couldn’t be happier with both the experience and the results.

She captured the energy, intimacy and emotional depth of our retreat with extraordinary sensitivity. Her presence was calm, respectful and seamlessly integrated into the group, allowing for natural and powerful imagery — even in the most vulnerable moments.

The images now reflect the true spirit of our retreat and the leadership we hold within our community. They will be treasured for years to come.

"I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the results. I feel strong and beautifully represented. Like an art."

I was looking for imagery that reflected my work as a yoga teacher at professional level. The entire experience felt grounded and considered. Krisztina guided the session with so much clarity and I felt completely at ease.

These images now represent my teaching with confidence and depth. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Nora Heinsoo  – Nora Yoga

From our very first conversation, I knew this would be more than a photoshoot. Krisztina approached the process as a true creative partner, helping me translate the evolution of my brand into imagery that felt aligned and intentional.

The final images elevated my online presence immediately. They communicate the depth, clarity and impact of my work in a way that feels distinctly me.

As my brand continues to evolve, I know she will be capturing each next chapter.
