Some projects land in your life very quietly, and yet you know immediately that they matter.
My dear friend Roberta has been creating something truly special in Sicily for many years. If you have not yet discovered Zen Sicily, it is a unique retreat space rooted in nature, family, and care. A place that has welcomed retreat leaders and teachers from all over the world, holding countless groups with so much heart, presence, and attention. Have a look and feel of the space here

Over the years, Roberta has been in conversation with hundreds of yoga teachers. Some dreaming of hosting retreats one day. Some already leading their communities. Some quietly carrying the idea in their hearts while feeling unsure, tired, or stretched thin. Again and again, one theme kept returning. Yoga teachers give so much, and often put themselves last.
That is where this new offering was born.
Zen Sicily Retreat (For Yoga Teachers)
27–30 June 2026

This yoga retreat is designed especially for teachers. Not as retreat leaders. Not as space holders. But simply as human beings.
If you have ever hosted a retreat, you know what it truly asks of you. Holding space from morning until night. Supporting others emotionally and energetically. Managing logistics, schedules, and the unexpected. It is meaningful work, but it can be exhausting. This retreat is a chance to step out of that role and experience what it feels like to be held instead.
And if you are dreaming of hosting a retreat one day, this weekend offers a gentle, real insight into what that world looks like. You will experience a retreat from the inside. How a venue supports teachers. How days are paced. What creates a sense of safety, flow, and nourishment for everyone involved. There is no pressure to lead, only space to observe, feel, and learn.
The days will include yoga, somatic and reflective practices, creative workshops, and generous space for rest, silence, and integration. There is nothing to organise. No one to hold. No schedule to manage. Just arriving, exhaling, and letting yourself be supported.
Guided and held with care
At the heart of this retreat is Roberta, the founder and soul of Zen Sicily.

For many years, Roberta has been welcoming yoga teachers and their groups from all over the world, holding retreats with deep care, presence, and an intuitive understanding of what teachers and students truly need. Her love for the land, nature, and organic living is felt in every detail of Zen Sicily, from the way the days unfold to the food on the table and the quiet respect for the natural rhythm of life.
Being with Roberta during this weekend offers a rare glimpse into how a retreat is held behind the scenes. You will experience what it means to create space that feels safe, grounded, and nourishing, not through effort or perfection, but through simplicity, attention, and trust in the land. For teachers who are curious about hosting retreats one day, her way of working is a beautiful example of how retreats can be rooted in authenticity, care, and sustainability.
The retreat will be also guided by Alida, a deeply experienced retreat leader who has been facilitating yoga retreats and teacher trainings at Zen Sicily since 2019. Alida also runs a yoga school in Catania and brings a grounded, compassionate approach to everything she offers. Her guidance will include morning yoga, somatic meditation practices, and a creative workshop designed to refresh your teaching and reconnect you with your why.

I feel deeply honoured to be co hosting this retreat alongside Roberta and Alida. As a photographer, visual storyteller, and the social media manager of Zen Sicily, my role during the weekend is to gently support you from a business and visibility perspective.
Through one to one portrait and content sessions, I will help you feel at ease in front of the camera and reconnect with the message you wish to share through your work. We will explore how to manage your business and social media in a more sustainable way, how to create content without pressure, and how to build a brand that supports you rather than drains you. This is not about doing more, but about finding clarity and ease in how you show up.

A space to rest and reset
Throughout the retreat, the Zen Sicily family will take care of every detail. From nourishing farm to table meals prepared with love, to the quiet moments in between practices, everything is designed to support rest. The days unfold naturally, guided by the land and the people who call this place home.

This yoga retreat for yoga teachers is an invitation to pause, reconnect, and recentre. To remember that you, too, deserve to be held.
If you feel called to join us, drop me an email hello@presentpractices.com and I will happily share all the details with you, including the schedule and payment information.
I would love to welcome you to Sicily for this special weekend.
